Inventing Anna-Relevant Journalistic Film

Inventing Anna is a Netflix series that came out in early 2022. The series is based on journalist Jessica Pressler, and her journey to create a story about a fraud German/Russian heiress. Although the show is loosely based on the true events that took place, "Pressler says there's an "emotional truth" to Inventing Anna," and it presents realistic hardships that take place while in the journalistic process. The show highlights the late nights at the office, the issues with being assigned a story from the superiors of the press company, the uncomfortable approaches that have to be taken to receive information, and how much hard work and time goes into creating a capturing article. It also shows how difficult it can be to make sure the story passes through legal, meets editors' deadlines, and lives up to the standards of the readers. Even though the series is mostly fictionalized it sheds a lot of light on how difficult being in the journalism industry is. Based on "Inventing Anna," I believe many viewers learned a lot about the journalism process, and the lengths these journalists take to produce a story they're proud of.
