Journalism and the Future

As technology continues to rapidly grow, misinformation and false news exponentially grow as well. With just the touch of a finger, you can access information from all over the world whether it be true or not. Because of the accelerant in technology, it is making it almost impossible for journalists to be awarded with a Nobel Peace prize. It is much easier for false information to be recycled on the internet so as Maria Ressa says, "when you live in a world without facts, you can’t have truth. You can’t have trust. And when you don’t have that, your shared reality is torn apart". With misinformation circling the media, journalists face the issue of the truth not being said and the right people not being held accountable.
