Journalism of the Future

In a time when anyone can present news to an audience given a platform, it's not surprising that there is a surplus of available sources. According to Shalabh Upadhyay, a journalist featured on NeimanLab's Predictions for Journalism 2022, “In a world of surplus information, news as a product is fast losing its relevance.” Upadhyay also claims that because people are receiving their news directly from social media, there is no burning need for journalists and news stations. Upadhyay also mentions that in order to maintain the relevancy of news in the future it's important that journalists make credibility the main focus in order to maintain their place in the news world.
