Pham Doan Trang is a Vietnamese journalists who mainly publishes her work to advocate for pro-democracy and human rights. She has been given multiple awards in trying to fight the lack of freedom, corruption, and despotism of the communist regime.
She is the co-founder of a blog Chinh Tri Binh Dan which gets almost over twenty thousand viewers a day. In her blogs she lectures about the issues Vietnamese residents run into with the communist government. She tries to tackle the problem by providing emotional stories as well as personal interviews with victims. She shares stories of her coworkers being abducted by the state and the police harassing her. Because of her personal stories, she is able to touch the hearts of millions; however, she also grabs the attention of the Vietnamese government. Vietnam tightly control their press and Trang even stated that she was "mentally prepared to go to prison". With her journey with battling the Vietnam government, she is able to fight back using her words as well as emotional pictures from the victims she interviews. Trang is one of the most well known journalists in Vietnam and she will continue her work no matter the consequences.
