Journalists in the Wild: Natalia Viana


Natalia Viana is a Brazilian journalist, who co-founded Agência Pública. Agência Pública is investigative journalism that was found in 2011 by women reporters. During Viana's time as a journalist she has covered stories such as, the Tibetan refugees in India, indigenous people being attacked in Colombia and human rights violations by the Angola authoritarian regime, to name a few. She is also the author of four books about old time and current day human rights violations. With all of her work focusing on human rights she has won several journalism awards, including the Valdimir Herzog Human Rights Award (2005/2006), the Women's Trophy Press Award (2011/2013), the Gabriel Garcia Marquez award (2016), and the Comunique-se Award (2016/2017).
