Nataliya Gumenyuk pt. 2

In my previous post I referred to Nataliya Gumenyuk, a Ukranian journalist and reporter describing when Russia first invaded over a month ago. She has continued to post through March, although it has been about 2 weeks since her last article. Okhtyrka is a small stragetically located town that had been bombed continuously for 3 weeks, but had continued to remain standing. Rather than display death totals and the pain caused, she is calling it a victory, that they have continued to hold out, especially considering captured Russian soldiers said they expected to be in Kyiv in 2 days, and here there are weeks later. She says that the Ukranians no longer flee when they hear explosions, that they know where to aim and fire back, and she has been shedding light on the Russians use of banned cluster muitions that have been killing civilians, including children. I can’t imagine to be in her place especially forcing myself to relive it over and over again by writing about it.
