While reading "NiemanLab Predictions for Journalism 2022" over some of the posts that student wrote during there journalism class of 2022, I was shocked to see how many of them thought that old journalism such as newspaper and newsroom was out and the new way of journalism such as social media and news app was. "When the immediate shift came to being online, the people who ran newsrooms were completely lost on how to navigate and report from their own homes. It allowed for millennials and Gen Z’s to truly shine in the newsroom and take over because of their digital presence and knowledge." Generations are changing and so is the world of the internet. It changes everyday. Digital media is sweeping us away and forming new ways of getting information out there. But what about our older generations and what they have to say of the new way of viewing news? I know for a fact that the older generations in my family are not going to give up so easy and just relying on social media to give out news. I have family members that still watch the news morning and night and a select few that read the newspaper everyday. Old journalism is still being used today and will be used for a while. Now while the new generation is born and being born into this world of technology, I can definitely see a change coming in the future but not for the future of 2022.
