I watched the movie Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal and come away some what concerned. The story is obviously dramatized for the movie but the points are still there. Gyllenhaal plays a videographer who records violent events in LA at night. He quickly learns what the TV stations want. At one point the editor of one station comments about how "no one cares about a gunshot victim in the ghetto", but pays top dollar for a white man shot in a rich neighborhood. While this story shows much deeper corruption that is pushed for the story. The movie sheds just a little light on the sensationalism that is the news media and their decisions on what is, and is not News. Sometimes, even creating it themselves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lEdwqwOttg
