News up to the elbows

In this era of technology, news companies have taken advantage of social networks, and we as users have received news through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others. However, journalist and COO of Fathm, Tom Trewinnard, shared an exciting proposal for the future of journalism.

In the Predictions for Journalism 2022 by NiemanLab, Trewinnard pointed out that the most used platform in several countries is WhatsApp and emphasized that news sources have many positive points if they decide to use it as a means to disseminate news. He even analyzed this platform's advantages compared to the other competing social networks, and he points out,

“Direct publishing through conversational platforms offers a mobile-native, highly interactive experience in apps and interfaces that most people are using every day.”

Tom Trewinnard's prediction for the year 2022 of journalism was:

"let’s seize the opportunity and design editorial products that engage our audiences in new and creative ways on the messaging platforms they’re increasingly using every day."

Undoubtedly, journalists will always look for the best tactics to bring the news to the people, using all available channels. The key point of this prediction is that the future newscast may be conversational.
