Have you ever been in an emergency where getting to the closest hospital is the only option you have? Of course getting medical attention is the most important, but finding out the cost after is seldom ever the first thing that comes to mind when going to that hospital. Well now that big, surprise medical bill can no longer be a surprise. Whether it’s in network or not, the bill will now be honored as in network. The new law ends these billing surprises for most emergency care by essentially requiring that patients receive in-network coverage with no additional billing from the provider”. How awesome is that? We all know the hospital bills are outrageous as it is and it seems as if they always make up something just to add a few extra hundred dollars or even thousands.
