Pinching Pennies at the Pump

An issue that has been steadily getting worse in the past few months is the rising price of gasoline. In a part of the country where the public transportation system is less than ideal, most people have no choice but to buy gas. As prices climb closer and closer to five dollars a gallon, many people are having to make difficult choices. The rise in gas prices, coupled with inflation has resulted in many customers being more careful in the way that they spend their money. I Interviewed my friend Carmen and asked how the rise in gas prices affected her. She stated that she “[doesnt] even get a full tank of gas anymore, at this point I get a few gallons and run on that until I have to buy gas again.” She also added that she tries to limit her time driving and tries to avoid non-necessary travel.
