It is no secret that the 2020 election was a controversial one, and that people are still looking for reasons to discredit both it and look for ways to insult and decry the current leadership. One immediately pressing concern is of course the record-high gas prices here and across the country, where various media groups and irritated citizens have been blaming the prices on President Joe Biden, and claiming his administration is entirely to blame. They use people's anger and fear both at the prices and at the state of the world to vilify him further. I am not saying he is perfect, but a quick search will show that Russia’s only accounts for 10% of US imports of oil and gas, and that America is producing 2.6% more barrels of crude oil than from 2020. Rather than show statistics however, they are using the timing of everything as the fault of the Biden Administration, pointing fingers quickly and loudly to get as many people to listen and talking about it as they can. Also, as more countries bring sanctions against Russia, oil and gas are going to be moving around less overall, driving prices up as well, along with increased demand as Covid-19 restrictions and fear continues to decrease.
