This story was posted on social media by the agency Texas Tribune on June 22nd:

The Twitter upload stated: "During last weekend’s state GOP convention, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller said he plans to place 'highly-trained' armed guards in school cafeterias. Experts say the plan is not realistic."

The Chicago Police Department is in the middle of a crime wave as far as I have seen, but they still have nowhere near the support that they say that they need. My family use to live in different areas in Illinois and still think about the state. In terms of Texas, I feel like putting armed adults around children is an idea with a lot of problems. The very young could have anxiety and depression over being considered targets, and not just accidents but intentional mistreatment of kids by poorly trained adults will happen. As a final point, I think that the U.S. has a lot of problems related to safety and security that need complex answers rather then police being the only solution allowed. Things simply aren't that easy.
