Most know how Buzzfeed is the most distrusted website to receive news and is exclusively known for its quizzes and their misleading titles. The one I have chosen today? "Eat Snacks, Snacks, And More Snacks To Find Out What Color Describes You To A T!" (Buzzfeed). This title itself explains how you can discover your 'color' just by what you eat. While most know that this is clearly misleading and fake, unfortunately, many still fall for it and the clickbait titles draw them into quiz after quiz after quiz, with more thumbnails with enticing titles and clearly fake stories following.
So, how to stop it? A number of people have made posts with effective research as to why the news is false. Even a simple post on Reddit, where a user said, "BuzzFeed (the main site) publishes a lot of extremely low-quality, low-effort clickbait. Stock photos with single-word commentary and garbage of that ilk. The entire purpose is to get people to view pages which then have ads on them" (Reddit). The best thing we can do is simply spread the news, explaining how it is bad to prevent it from growing into an outstanding problem.
