Russia's still at it.

While I believe it's imperative to continue to focus on our country and our situations, sometimes I just feel the need to step back from our issues and indulge in other foreign stories. For example, Russia has just captured Severodonetsk, and some analysts say that this loss is more significant and symbolic to Russia than it is to Ukraine. After weeks of fierce fighting Ukrainian forces have abandoned the town. Ihor Romanenko, former deputy chief of Ukraine’s general staff of armed force, states that “It’s a minor loss, there’s still Lysychansk [the neighboring town controlled by Ukraine], and Severodonetsk has largely served its purpose,”

The article appeals to the reader's logos. Ultimately, while this is still a loss from Ukraine, it was a small loss as the economic value was not substantial enough. Russia has a huge supply of forces, and to fight over something of less value to Ukraine would make no logical sense, therefore they retreated and allowed Russia to claim the land.
