It is one of the biggest topics regarding technology in today's social climate. It has caused a stir between the youth and the adults across the world. the question of all technological questions. Is Social Media better than Traditional media in the sense of their news accuracy?
First, before we get down to the nitty-gritty let's talk about the two media and explain their importance to society. Coming out of the blue corner, making its first debut way back in 2004, and still around today stronger than ever… its social media! *applause* and out of the red corner, making its first debut all the way back to the 1920s, returning for his hopeful triumphant comeback… it’s traditional media! Ok, let’s get into it. Let's FIGHT- I mean DEBATE!
Okay, excuse me for that corny introduction, but I had to build some hype up for this debate right? This one is truly going to be a good one. Let's start with the Original media and that is traditional media. Now back in its prime, traditional media was the best way to get your news. Started out slow at first, but things started to hit their stride when automobiles were made, airplanes, fax machines, Television, etc. let’s just say as technology advanced, so did the traditional way of media. A great jab from traditional media to close out the 1st round! Now it is time for social media. A lot of people say that social media has negatively affected the youth but that isn't the case at all. If anything, technology, and social media have given people more opportunities through social media. People are able to receive news a lot faster through social media. They no longer have to go through days or weeks waiting for news to arrive at them. OH! Heavy right hand from Social media closing out the 2nd round! let's talk about the level and engagement from both. "Social media is all about engagement whereas traditional media is about reach."
