Temporary Truce in Yemen

A new truce has been brokered by the UN, Saudis, and Yemen rebels for a two-month cease-fire. This war has been going on since 2014 and has seen its fair share of bloody battles. The war began when the Houthis captured the capital city of Yemen, Sanaa. The U.S, Great Britain, and France supported the Saudi Arabian Coalition made up of Saudi Arabia and its Arabic allies. Hans Grundberg is the UN representative for Yemen, and in a press conference he stated the goal of the truce is to " reach a permanent ceasefire, address urgent economic and humanitarian measures and resume the political process between the Yemeni parties" (UPM, 2022). I believe we should be focusing our humanitarian efforts on this war instead of war in Ukraine because the U.S is also responsible for supporting and extending this war.
