The future of news is… NFTs?

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is a major regional newspaper located in Dunwoody, Georgia, covering national and foreign news. In 2021 to celebrate the World Series win of the Atlanta Braves, this major newspaper minted 2,021 NFTs of their three unique front page editions to celebrate this historic event. Like many NFTs, these did not take off, and if you check now, the last time someone traded for one was in November. All of the possibilities that arise from this one seemingly failed attempt to celebrate the Braves are nearly endless. Given enough time and a few more World Series wins, these NFTs may be worth something one day, and their owners are forever a part of a select club of up to 2,021 people, meaning there is a limited supply of token holders.

These "NFT holders don't just have a piece of art/history, but a piece of a growing economic system, and the AJC is essentially a small central bank issuing currency.”
