One good example of misinformation from history is the fake news reported about King George the second. during the height of the Jacobite rebellion in Great Britain, fake news was printed out that stated "King George the second is ill". They did this to destabilize the government and the fake news started to get picked up by printers that were more reputable and could spread information to a larger audience.
