The Neighborhood Drag Strip.

“Faster, Faster, Until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death” – Hunter S. Thompson

I personally have just moved into what my wife and I are calling our "forever home". We just had our second child and decided we needed to find a place to plant roots. We found the perfect home for us and purchased it almost immediately. Everything was great until we realized that our street is used as a cut through for the surrounding neighborhoods, and no one cares about the speed limit.

I went around and talked to my neighbors both with and without children to get their opinion on the subject. Kostyantyn Tsykalo, a neighbor down the street and father of a one-year-old stated “This is a great neighborhood but this street is so dangerous I’m is scared to let my son play in the front yard”. Mr. Tsykalo use of the rhetorical device pathos helps us connect with him as parents and the feat of not letting harm come to our children.

Jeremy Villarreal is the President of the HOA and lives at the very end of the street stated that “He is currently in contact with the Rowlett City Office in an attempt to get higher police presence or the instalment of speed limits signs, and or speed bumps”. Mr. Villarreal uses logos to inform us that something within reason is attempting to be done to improve this dangerous street.
