Newspapers and other news outlets are started to get bought out by hedge funds and other big people. That doesn't mean that people should bet against it, but rather, work in contrast. Larry Ryckman talks about how young, passionate journalists are on the rise. He also talks about what you can do to make sure that these hedge funds don't always win. He gives ideas like being non-profit when it makes sense and to be energetic about your pursuits. He mentions how the Colorado Sun is doing that very thing, a group of journalists started their own news source. He also says "There's nothing wrong with being for-profit as long as your company isn't interested only in profit". Basically talking about how you can make sure your journalism gets money, but to make sure that isn't the only thing in your mind.
