The Truth VS A Scam: The Reality of False News

With the internet growing and expanding every day, there are multiple ways to get the news out to the general public. However, people use the algorithm to spread misinformation to confuse people into believing something that isn't true. "Seeking to make money from advertising, false information can also arise from misinformed social media posts by regular people that are seized on and spread through a hyper partisan blogosphere." Sapna Maheshwari from the New York Times. Examples like this news about Donald Trump, in order to paint a different picture and pursue the opinions of other people. To make matters worse, reliable news outlets like the Washington Post will spread disinformation, and have false news go viral.

So how can we determine the truth from the scam, well it is simple do your own research. Find an Algorithm that is reliable in giving out factual news, like the Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times. You can also do research on the reporter because the ambition and experience the journalist had with the news, he puts out could prove to be a reliable news source. When it comes to the news the spectrum is just so large that it is better to not believe everything you hear. Fact checks these News outlets to see if they are legit and listen to the journalists who are more experienced and are trying to help you, not another third party.
