Toilets are a staple in modern society and a staple of first-world countries. After all, "you can gauge the state of a country by the state of its toilets". Some examples of this would be places like southern Africa, where toilets are simple holes in the ground. Compare that to other easter countries like japan which has toilets with self-warming seats and bidet. That being said, there is a dark side to toilets; that is the numerous amounts of deaths and injuries they cause every year. In America, there are a reported 40,000 injuries caused by toilets every year. There are many reasons one can be injured by a toilet; some may be people slipping in the bathroom and bashing their head on the seat, others cause maybe the toilet to explode as it's in use regardless, one can never be too sure.
