Twitter V.S Facebook: The Way News Gets Around

Social media is a growing platform in terms of finding news. Just about any social media app that you can think of delivers some type of news, but Facebook and Twitter tend to be the go-to for many individuals. Both apps deliver the latest news. However, each one has its differences that set them apart. Facebook offers Facebook News to its audience. Facebook News was created to offer a "personalized and curated experience" for its viewers. This way viewers can choose what news they want to be presented to them daily. Facebook filters through sources to try and find "trusted publishers across a variety of subject areas." Facebook does this to minimize the amount of "fake" or "unreliable" news. Unlike Facebook, Twitter opens to a much wider amount of information. Celebrities and politicians are constantly updating the world on their lives. Hundreds of news outlets post on Twitter daily, and Twitter even has an account specifically for breaking news. Twitter is sometimes "even faster than traditional media outlets at spreading groundbreaking information." However, Twitter is a little less personalized and reliable than Facebook News. Anybody can post news. That means that the information that viewers are intaking is not always coming from a reliable source. Both Facebook and Twitter are frequently used apps used to stay up to date. It is left up to the user's preference to decide which one to use.
