Why is it Getting Harder to Breathe?

Throughout the modern age, gasoline has been fueling a lot of different forms of transportation in our lives. While it has become very useful in taking us different places, it has also harmed the environment around us. Air pollution has become a very serious problem in the United States, and while in recent years the upbringing of electric cars has increased, the current pollution still has become a problem. Dallas has become increasingly worse in recent years. According to Green Leaf Air, The AQI (air quality index) in Dallas has been "one of the worst in the US for both ozone air pollution and PM2.5. In 2019, Dallas, Texas air quality failed to meet the nationally mandated level, which was PM2.5 pollution. Due to air pollution in Dallas, more than 1.5 million residents in Dallas are at health risk." Since I live close to Dallas and have friends who work in the city, I decided to ask them what it was like dealing with the massive amounts of pollution everyday. Muaaz Makda, a good friend of mine, works at the Baylor hospital in the city. "We have patients coming in all the time having trouble breathing that need air and other medications to help them get better oxygen. The city needs to do a better job and keeping our air clean so that people's lives are not at risk". Muaaz used a lot of emotion and personal experience to talk about such a big issue that still resides in this community. A good way we can eliminate air pollution is the transition of public transportation to electrical energy, like buses. This would help Dallas not be a health hazard and allow people to breathe better air.
