Will The Crime In Uptown Dallas Ever Be Resolved?

In the wake of recent shootings in the uptown Dallas area, I have researched what's being done to curb violence. It seems that when bars close for the night, altercations usually begin between patrons, which has led to an uptick in gun violence in the area. Kathy Stewart is the executive director of Uptown Dallas and is working with the Dallas Police Department to try and get more security cameras and hire security guards. There seems to not be enough police presence in the streets to police the citizens. I asked my friend, Michael Schram, about what he thinks needs to be done to alleviate the stress of the crimes. He says bars need to "Hire private security and have them armed with assault rifles. Then people will be scared to shoot." I wholeheartedly agree with what Michael told me, with the addition of street closures like how 6th street does in Austin. There is definitely room for improvement to lower gun violence in the uptown Dallas area.
