When the pandemic occurred the world had to adjust to this new life of staying inside, rather than being out to handle our daily lives. As we adapted to the circumstances and vaccines are coming, are virtual events here to stay?
Rick Berke wrote Virtual events are here to stay and in the blog describe the pros and cons to virtual events. For example Berke mentions for a pro "Events are far cheaper to put on. No travel costs. No catering. No cocktails.", allowing far less expenses to host event for your group. Berke as well provides cons such as "the most sophisticated Zoom conference can’t replicate the feel or the mood of an in-person event.", him saying not even virtual meetings can replace the real thing in person.
Although I have no doubt society will go back to in person events, virtual events will be necessary moving forward in the future. As new methods of communicating is always needed in the event of a crisis.
