Many states were overwhelmed with vaccination requests whenever the vaccine first came out, however in some states the requests to get vaccinated have slowed down. One of the reasons for this is because some people are afraid of the side effects of the vaccine, but another reason is that some people dont want a vaccine at all. In alabama " part of the reason may be because there’s a perception that improved case numbers in the state means the risk of contracting the coronavirus isn’t as high" (Harris 6). This is dangerous for society because we do not have herd immunity yet and need it to be safe from covid-19
