There are countless social media pages, or news articles who provide their readers with fake news. Most pages spreading the false information are looking for more people to notice them so they can obtain a bigger following. For example, multiple people have falsely accused Allen ISD of closing down their schools for the rest of the year. However, Allen ISD took matters into their own hands when posting on their social media that students and parents should only believe what they hear from Allen ISD officials.They then followed to post “Allen ISD campuses will remain closed through Friday, May 1.” A majority of the people who were posting the fake news have used photoshop to fake an email, or post about the school closings. This leads to other students seeing the post or reposting because they believe the things they see on their
friend’s social media.
