Masks. One of 2020's buzziest words. The lack of their availability even to most essential workers have made them hotter than any toy at Christmas. And while some individuals are placing orders on Amazon for 12-packs that won't arrive for another month, others are reporting to bandanas and DIY masks. And with the CDC recommending all individuals wear face masks if they leave self-isolation, hospitals face the threat of shortages. As people continue to buy out Amazon's supply of medial-grade masks, grocery stores are donating their supplies directly to hospitals who need it more than the average individual. When asked his opinion, the dean of medical affairs at the Baylor College of Medicine said that, " [he thinks] the last thing we need is 4 million people running around trying to procure surgical masks,” and instead “we need them in healthcare facilities, not in people’s homes.”
