Steve Henn, a content strategist lead for audio news at Google explains in an article titled “The dawning audio web” how podcasts have allowed creators to reach audiences all over the world, but that podcasts are only the beginning. He states that “Audio isn’t yet interactive, personally relevant, or intelligent” and that what both podcasts and digital audio can be and do is still being explored. He explains that at Google, they have begun to find ways to make the online search for podcasts easier for consumers and that “searching through the world’s audio instantly is becoming possible”. He further goes on to explain that interactive audio is just beginning and that it will continue to grow while allowing developers and creators a chance to take advantage of the audio web.
