“Podcasting was a much different landscape ten years ago” says Joni Deutsch in an article titled “Podcasting unsilences the silent”. They go on to explain how in some ways podcasts have changed for the worst , citing that at times podcasting now has grown into ad spaces and marketing strategies. That with the changes along the way, podcasts have lost what they were first made to be, a vehicle “to give anyone (no matter who and no matter where) a voice”. Deutsh explains ways on how podcasting can evolve for the better and not become “digitally gentrified”. Some of these being educating the public on what podcasts are, providing the tools for anyone to create and collaborating with others.
