Best Times for News Moments



A study shown from the Reuters Institute's Digital News Report in 2019, concluded information regarding younger people having four moments of time spent consuming news content. These four moment consisting of, dedicated times that were intentionally meant for focusing on the news which is usually in the afternoon or on the weekend, a moment to get up to date with what's occurring, a moment to fill the time, and moments where they are intercepted with news by alerts or notifications. http://www.digitalnewsreport.org/survey/2019/how-younger-generations-consume-news-differently/


It's the audience editors job to thoroughly analyze the daily lives and schedules of individuals to understand how news consumption affects or is affecting how often the information is being views throughout each day. These editors goal is to be able to use the idea of "new moments" will help in meeting the different needs of the audience depending on the time of day or what moment of consumption is being desired specifically to that individual. That is what is being experimented and tested in order to improve in the number of stories that they want to get seen by the people.
