Facebook news is a feature that can be personalized to your preferences on where you'd like to obtain your information. While Facebook is used daily by myself, and millions of other users, I can't help but notice that the news that is provided is only from pages I liked. I almost never get news from any other source except my liked pages.
Facebook likes to use some form of alliteration, as they provide me the same exact story, except different sources that I liked. Sometimes the personalization can be too personalized, to where a user will not have an open mind or understanding. This would be due to the fact that they are receiving their preference rather than bring open to other sources. An article from, The Guardian, explains how Facebook has changed the algorithm regarding the news. The article states, "These changes had the effect of reducing audience exposure to public content from all pages, including news." I do hope that there will be more diverse news, without people having to look for it.
