Boycotting the Beijing Olympics

In recent weeks the calls for boycotting the Beijing Olympics have grown louder and louder. Several countries along with human rights organizations have called for the boycott of the 2022 Olympics in Beijing. The reason for the boycott is the Chinese Communist Party has been violating human rights recently by putting some of their people who disagree with those in power in Concentration Camps, as well as committing genocide against the Uyghurs. The US State Department spokesperson Ned Price tweeted, "As I said, we don't have any announcement regarding the Beijing Olympics. 2022 remains a ways off, but we will continue to consult closely with allies and partners to define our common concerns and establish our shared approach to the PRC". Several lawmakers have called upon the Biden administration to offer to host the Olympics here in the US.
