After reading Dan Shanoff's article, "Sports Media Enters the Bronny Era", he talks about the growth of high school basketball. He talks about how it is "consumed by the younger audience coveted by incumbent media companies and brands". He uses Bronny James, son of LeBron James, has earned coverage from top-brand media companies like ESPN, New York Times, and The Washington Post as a high school freshman. He is also a star of multiple sports media platforms as they go to his games and record his highlights. These highlights will be all across the internet and will gather millions of views, as if he is celebrity. There are other high school phenoms out there that have gained attraction over the years like Zion Williamson, LaMelo Ball, and Paige Bueckers. Aside from basketball, Shanoff thinks this year can be big for high school sports and believes "media organizations across the spectrum should invest further in the opportunity to experiment across high school space".
