Back then newspapers were the soul way of receiving the latest news. Now of course we have all of this technology, google, news shows, etc. that give us all of our current news. Newspapers have fallen in the dark now considering society will take the easier route of looking something up, verses reading through a piece of paper.
To keep up with all of this technology, newspapers have become more visual and eye catching to make it more appealing to society. Some newspapers like Colorado Daily have chosen a more visual effect with pictures filling the whole page, whereas in The Hour they have more words, and more smaller pictures sprinkled throughout.
These visual rhetorics are so important for newspapers today since their is so much competition , that without these eye catching rhetorics newspapers would become extinct.
