Catching the Misinformation

Suha Ahsanullah

As most know, fake news surrounds us especially in this day and age with the new pandemic plaguing the world. However, there are many ways to avoid falling for over exaggerated articles or just downright lies. One in particular is just checking the url; the most accurate information can come from websites ending in ".org", ".gov.", or ".edu". The second, and perhaps most obvious method, is to just read the article. "Headlines can be outrageous in an effort to get clicks," so simply reading the article and determining whether it seems far too outlandish to be true is an effective method of deducing and filtering fake news from accurate sources.
