NHS is planning on fighting coronavirus misinformation along with the government which plans on leading their own counter-disinformation unit. NHS has been working with different social media platforms for example Twitter to suspend users for spreading misinformation about the virus online, “fighting bad advice and misinformation about the virus in the media and online, working with Twitter to suspend a false account posing as a hospital and putting out inaccurate information about the number of coronavirus cases, and publicly condemning homeopaths promoting false treatments”. They have partnered with the likes of Google, Twitter, and Facebook to provide outlets of trustworthy information about the Coronavirus. The interesting part of this article was that many of the experts in disinformation stated that most of the misinformation that people are getting about the virus are from person to person rather than websites and new articles which is crazy.
