Comparing Sources

cmontgomery321

Different news outlets use different methods of sharing news. To compare, I'll use Twitter and CNN's website. While CNN does have a presence with their own Twitter account, they aren't the only ones there. On Twitter, their algorithm collects every news outlet's stories along with general buzz from other users to give you trending topics. In the news tab, you're given a general trending tab full of hashtags, news stories and subjects. Along with that, they offer different tabs for different subjects, like Sports and Entertainment. In contrast, CNN's website shows breaking or new news stories at the top of their site. As you scroll down, you start to see grouped stories with different subjects, like cooking or politics. CNN shows you what they deem as important as the front and center of their site. Twitter uses algorithms to show what everyone's talking about.
