In a confirmed intelligence report put out by the Biden administration, it is now confirmed that the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia called for the murder of a Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018. Although this information is now public, America cannot take direct action against the Prince as the U.S. and Saudi Arabia have many ties together. We need Saudi Arabia to "contain Iran, to counter terrorist groups and to broker peaceful relations with Israel." Furthermore, by cutting all connections with Saudi Arabia we are actually pushing them towards China, losing some of our biggest allies to our biggest competitors. Mr.Khashoggi was very critical of Saudi Arabia in the Washington Post, and, under false pretenses, they lured the reporter to a consulate in the country where they "dismembered his body with a bone saw." The Biden administration, although publicly bashed former President Trump for not taking any action, can not take any direct action on the Crown Prince either so they established financial and travel sanctions on the other Saudis responsible for the murder.
