Context Costs Credibility

Ray Bradbury

In today's political climate it can be hard to trust. For the most part, people are willing to share information if they are given something in return. These people are called the News. It's a grim reality we live where we have to constantly question the credibility of someone's article or report. One thing that is always being twisted for gain is context. Context brings meaning to a message and allows the readers to draw conclusions of their own based on the surrounding evidence. “Media coverage contributes to an ecosystem that harms people and democracies, and we can’t ignore that context any longer.” Says Laura Davis an assistant professor at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
