Every time you see the newspaper it has the latest trending news stories in big bold letters. The headline catches the readers attention and keeps them hooked. Though readers do not know if this info that is being portrayed to them is true. They see it, read it, and assume it is reality. When in fact, most of the time, it is not. Society has referred to this type of media as fake news. It has been proven that fake news is used, "with the intent to mislead in order to damage" what the public believes. In the article I have presented, it stated that Trump had been impeached. In actuality, the press was just assuming this was true when really, no legal action had been officially executed. The media wanted to stir trouble and create a story that got people's attention and help them to create a profit. The effect was able to persuade the public's knowledge on what was happening in society.
