Recently I came across a journalist named Daniel James. He likes to travel the world and post about his experience on his blog. His website is called Dan Flying Solo and it contains a lot of information about all the places he has traveled to. Dan states, "Anyhow, this blog was born in 2013, I think, mainly to write really crappy articles, add a few semi-bad photos, and keep my family informed on my little weekend trips." His blog started out as a way for his family to keep his family updated but the blog grew and he gained a following. He used to be a restaurant manager in London but quit his job to blog full time. In one of Dan's articles titled Two Weeks in the Falkland Islands: A Diary From the Land of Penguins, he added a picture of him standing next to penguins. This image allows the reader to get insight as to what the article may be about as well as grab the readers attention. Dan decided to write this article as if it were a diary. He uses one diary entry to describe each day of his trip. His website is very interesting and if you are going to be traveling soon, I would recommend checking him out for more information for your trip.
