Today, fake news is all over the internet and is mistaken for true news. "Fake news and false rumors reach more people, penetrate deeper into the social network, and spread much faster than accurate stories" (Meyer 1). Due to the extravagant information presented in the "fake" articles, it is more common for it to be spread for shock value. A study done at MIT has concluded that it is quite obvious how much fake news is circulated more than real news. The solution for this contaminated ecosystem is a whole restructure of news presented to the media. The study also highlights that the main problem truly is us, humans as we are the ones that spread it. Fake news has become a much bigger problem than what we expected and it is going to take a lot to dethrone its presence in the media.
