When I searched up the word "disinformation" I came across an abc news article titles "5 ways to spot disinformation on your social media feeds". After reading and analyzing this article I have realized a big portion of fake news being spread, is actually being spread because people don't thin k before they retweet or share something. They used an example of Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign. This "spread like wildfire among journalists on Twitter. A mock video and a mock campaign logo surfaced online. Neither was meant to be taken seriously, but many journalists immediately shared them because they thought all their friends would find them funny. Before long the false narratives were seen by thousands." ABC then goes on to say how important it is to think before you send information out there. They also say to fact check things that seem fishy and look at who posted it. Do they have a real account? Do they have a profile picture? Things like that. https://abcnews.go.com/US/ways-spot-disinformation-social-media-feeds/story?id=67784438 [1 Image, 2 quotes, 1 link, 167 words]
