We all know, for years social media has had a major impact in the way we rely on information, but how much of this information can we actually depend on to be true? Don't get me wrong I can lose time on Instagram and Twitter just as much as the next person but are these apps clouding our better judgment. Often times we catch wind of a story and go straight to social to find out how much of this information to be factual. Could it be that the information we seek is being fluffed to get our attention? Apps Like Twitter and Instagram strive on how many likes a post a person has. Lausanne Global Analysis says "Whatever it's origin, fake news relies on social media to spread widely and rapidly." I could also add, that every heart and share we give a post spreads the information faster. So the next time you come across a post that seems funny or interesting, before you like or share it think, am I spreading fake news.
