DACA has been a well implemented program that grants protection against children who came into the United States illegally. And although they are not fully protected and do have to follow certain criteria such as maintain a clean criminal record in order to maintain a good status, the majority of those people follow through and end up staying in the country for an extended amount of time. So with that being said, what I was surprised to learn about was when our president had attempted to eradicate the program entirely. I could understand the reasoning he may have had behind those actions but when the article from the Los Angeles Times stated that “Trump and his administration had failed to give an explanation for why it was repealing a popular and widely launched program” I was in awe of his approach. Why take something away that has helped thousands of people if you aren't able to justify it?
