Elite Journalism

dgeorge194

Over the last four years under the Trump administration, Journalism has become increasingly important. Many more people in the country have become much more interested in what is going on in their country and world. Journalists have begun to assert themselves into one of the two political parties in the United States. C.W. Anderson at Neimanlab says that because of this, “Journalists have relied heavily on elite sources… for story tips and off-the-record feedback.” The problem with this is that the elites have become rather problematic. One-half of the elites are left-wing liberals, while the other half are right-wing conservatives. This means that journalists must choose between parties to represent and understand that only the people in that party will read/watch what they produce.
