Travel news and blogs can come in many different forms to appeal to different crowds. For Texas we have many different sources with exciting traveling tips, but what makes them different? One very well known source is Texas Highways. Which is both a magazine and a social media outlet. Texas Highways says there main concentration is, "Stories focus on Texas’ scenic, recreational, historical, cultural, and ethnic treasures accompanied by strong photography highlighting the state’s natural beauty." There covers are always breath taking photos from around the state. My favorite part of Texas Highways is how they incorporate so much history. Giving a real good education and incite into the past of Texas history. So that when you visit these places you will know the meaning and history behind them.
Another largely well known travel blog is Travel Texas. This sources relies more so on social media to reach people. Which looses some viewers since not everyone is on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. You can tell this outlet is more geared towards younger more youthful generations; because they post very fun places to go that would be 'Instagramable' and have lots of very well put together stories at the top of the page.
On both of the social medias pages they have posts about Palo Duro Canyon in Amarillo, Texas. Both have incredible photos, but very different. Texas Highways is a stunning night sky photo which not many Texans can see in the city. Whereas, Travel Texas takes a different approach with having a cute dog with the canyon. The captions and also quite different, Texas Highways gives the viewer something historical that happened in the canyon, and Travel Texas gives more so a short fun fact to keep it simple.
